STAGE 2.3

The Stage 2.3 kit utilizes front and rear fully adjustable piggy back SP2 3.3 Fast Adjust shocks for owners that want complete control over their suspension. The Fast Adjust shocks allow you to easily soften up the suspension for extended dirt road travel or firm it up for windy days and long highway stretches for sports car like handling. This is the perfect kit for stock Revels, light weight adventure vans, and most passenger vans running at a weight under 7800lbs to smooth out the harshness experienced on washboard roads and sharp, abrupt impacts. Our Stage 2.3 suspension package transforms the Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 from a violently swaying and lumbering cargo van into a vehicle with true German luxury car feeling and control both on and offroad. Vehicle control and suspension compliance are the two areas of ride quality we focused on when we engineered this kit, and each shock is packed full of our knowledge tuning suspensions to work perfectly for the intended purposes of these adventure vans.

The cornerstone of our Stage 2.3 kit is the fully adjustable Falcon Piggyback Reservoir 3.3 Fast Adjust Shocks. These shocks have a MASSIVE range of compression adjustment at the simple flip of a knob. With the large, red Fast Adjust knob, placed in an easy to access spot, you will definitely take advantage of the adjustment features of these shocks. Position 1, the softest setting, is optimized for rough dirt road travel. Setting the knob to position 2, and utilizing the micro dial to fine tune, sets the shocks for everyday comfort and is the preferred setting for everyday road going travel. This is your van’s every day normal running around town setting. Position 3, the firmest setting, will engage maximum stability for loaded highway travel and treacherous cross wind conditions. Cross wind sway, poor cornering stability, low speed rocking and harshness are a thing of the past with the Van Compass Stage 2.3 kit installed!

The Stage 2.3 kit does not change the vehicle ride height and retains the factory suspension geometry which is critical for safe emergency lane change procedures as well as off-road performance. While other kits on the market force the van up 2” in ride height and sacrifice critical down travel in order to gain front spring rate, our Stage 2.3 kit utilizes a front sumo spring to accomplish the same thing without maxing out the limits of your van’s front suspension. This means control arm angles, axle shaft and steering angles stay neutral and your van retains it’s ability to articulate and keep it’s tires planted on the ground while traversing rough forest roads. The front sumo spring greatly helps with front stability and reducing harsh bottoming of the front suspension without sacrificing suspension travel. It optimizes your van’s front suspension and properly loads the chassis in an area designed to hold a spring load. Paired with a tuned Falcon 3.3 Fast Adjust front shock and the original Van Compass secondary shock mounting bracketry, your Sprinter will have a sporty but compliant feeling the way a Mercedes Benz vehicle should.

STAGE 2.5

The Stage 2.5 aDAPT e-ADJUST suspension package is a revolutionary industry first brought to you by the team at Van Compass. The only place you can get fully active suspension for your 4wd Sprinter van. Yes, you read that right, the Falcon aDAPT e-ADJUST system is not only adjustable at the touch of a button from the drivers seat, but with the included computer module, this suspension package is fully active and automatically transitions the shocks from soft to firm in a fraction of a second depending on driver inputted G-thresholds, conveniently set using your smart phone and Falcon’s app. Combined with a front Sumo spring to increase the front spring rate, this kit transforms the Sprinter van driving experience from a simple, lumbering cargo van to a fully active, canyon carving, dirt road munching, adventure machine! Our Stage 2.5 kit is recommended for light passenger and cargo vans that see empty loads on the weekdays, but jump up about 1000lbs or more on the weekends for adventures.

There are three settings which can be selected from the in-cab control switch to adjust the shocks on the vehicle: Soft, Firm, Auto. In Auto setting, the aDAPT Control Module automatically switches from Soft to a manually preselected Firm setting based on driver selectable minimum “G” threshold. This G threshold and duration is selected using the Falcon app. Multiple preset “Auto” programs can be created and saved for different driving conditions.

The aDAPT Control Module adjustment parameters are: forward acceleration, lateral acceleration, braking. Each parameter is set individually.

The Firm mode duration can be set between 1-5 seconds.

The desired Firm setting of the shock itself is preselected manually on each shock using the 8-position dial.

We are constantly striving for innovation and perfecting the ride quality of the 4wd Sprinter van platform. Over the years, we have found the key to optimum ride quality in all situations is not just a custom tuned shock package per customer, but the adjustability to change the shock’s damping profile easily to adapt to driving conditions and driver preference. A van that is racking up highway miles, loaded to the gills with all the adventure toys and amenities of home will want to have a firm but still compliant suspension set-up to deal with windy days, 2 lane highways with Semi’s ripping by, and twisty mountain roads. Take that same vehicle, and turn off the highway onto some rough forest roads in search of that high mountain lake or perfect creekside campsite, and having the suspension set to a softer setting for maximum compliance and control to keep the occupants comfortable with vehicle sway minimized. This new Electronic Falcon Shock package does all of that, within reach of the drivers seat!
